In Spoleto with Luisa Ranieri, Alessandro Gassmann, Massimiliano Gallo, and many other major TV stars. Words from the President and CEO of Rai Com
The curtains rose on the Rai Com Screenings 2025 with a glittering opening night at the historic Teatro Caio Melisso in Spoleto. The event drew over ninety buyers from television networks and digital platforms around the world to the Umbrian town, all gathered to explore and acquire Rai’s latest offerings—scripted series, TV films, documentaries, cultural events, and children’s programming.
Welcoming the international audience were some of Italy’s most celebrated actors—stars who resonate with viewers both at home and abroad: Luisa Ranieri, lead in Le indagini di Lolita Lobosco and currently filming La preside, a new series inspired by the trailblazing school principal from Caivano, made a brief appearance before returning to set in Rome. Alessandro Gassmann, after the international success of I Bastardi di Pizzofalcone, is now starring in I casi dell’avvocato Guerrieri.
They were joined by a host of other prominent actors from Rai’s most beloved series, including Giuseppe Battiston (Stucky), Giulia Bevilacqua and Massimiliano Gallo (Vincenzo Malinconico, avvocato d’insuccesso), as well as Antonia Liskova, Diane Fleri, Romana Maggiora Vergano, and Andrea Arcangeli.
Guests—including many institutional representatives—were welcomed by Rai Com President Claudia Mazzola and CEO Sergio Santo, who emphasized the broader significance of the event. “The Screenings are more than just a commercial platform for Rai and Rai Com,” said President Claudia Mazzola. “They’re an opportunity to spotlight Italy’s cultural and artistic wealth—this year with a special focus on the Umbria region. In doing so, Rai Com becomes a kind of ambassador for the landscapes and stories that deserve global attention.” “Here in Spoleto,” added CEO Sergio Santo, “we’re proud to host buyers from every corner of the globe—from the U.S. and Australia to Japan and across Europe. These industry professionals are discovering the depth and diversity of Rai’s catalogue, which includes around 4,000 titles, over 600 catalog films, 700 classics, and more than 8,000 hours of TV content. Rai Com continues to stand as one of the world’s key content providers for broadcasters and distributors alike.”
The Screenings 2025 continue through Friday, April 11 at the San Nicolò Monumental Complex (Via Gregorio Elladio, 10). The event is organized in collaboration with the Umbria Region, with logistical support from the City of Spoleto.
In Spoleto, book presentations by Massimiliano Ossini (April 10) and Beppe Convertini (April 11)
Spoleto hosts a double feature with prominent Rai Libri authors. On Thursday, April 10 at 5:00 PM, Massimiliano Ossini—joined by presenter Benedetta Rinaldi—will unveil his compelling book “K2. A Step from the Summit, a Step from Life” (Rai Libri). The narrative offers a firsthand account of a daring expedition undertaken by Italian and Pakistani female mountaineers as they faced the formidable 8,611-meter climb of the world’s second-highest peak.
The following day, Friday, April 11 at 5:00 PM, actor and TV host Beppe Convertini will present “The Blue Country. A Journey to Discover the Coasts of Our Italy and Its Sea” alongside actress Simona Borioni. The book is a heartfelt exploration of Italy’s coastal beauty, rich traditions, time-honored trades, and culinary treasures.
Both events will take place in the Conference Room of the Giosuè Carducci Library, located at Via Brignone 14 in Spoleto.
