Rai Italia reinforces its broadcasting in Europe as well as the rest of the world with the Rai channels now available in UK and Spain where the Italian community is large and attentive to the vicissitudes of their homeland. The distribution agreement with World Stream – Il Globo finalized by Rai Com includes the territories of Southern Ireland, Portugal, Switzerland, France, Belgium, Malta, Greece, Cyprus, Turkey, Romania, Moldova, Finland, Latvia and Lithuania, joining Germany, Hungary and Luxembourg. World Stream is part of the Melbourne-based publishing group Il Globo established in 2016 to produce print and digital news for the Italian communities, in Italian and English. The publishing Group already has other agreements in place for the distribution of Rai Italia in Australia and South America. Through satellite, cable, IPTV and OTT platforms worldwide, the Rai channels reach over 40 million homes, for about six million Italians (registered with Aire) residing and working abroad, approximately eighty million oriundi and two hundred and fifty million Italics. These high numbers of the pool of Italians abroad ensure the success of the public service goals.
