Based on the acclaimed film of the same name, the series -narrated by Pif- follows the Giammarresi family living in late 1970s Palermo. Lorenzo, the father, his wife Pia, and their two children navigate everyday struggles with work, love, and money. But in a city overshadowed by the Mafia, even the most ordinary problems take on dangerous dimensions.
Told with a bittersweet and ironic tone that contrasts sharply with its darker themes, the series captures a gripping and emotional chapter of Italian history – one shaped by the clash between good and evil, and illuminated by the courage of both everyday and extraordinary heroes.
Directed by Luca Ribuoli and starring Claudio Gioè, Anna Foglietta, Francesco Scianna, Valentina D’Agostino, Nino Frassica, and Pif, both seasons are now available in a single DVD box set, in stores and online from May 15.
