Calabria: Linea Verde Sentieri Estate explores the region between Stilo and Serra San Bruno. Saturday, July 27 at 12:25 p.m., on Rai 1

Lino Zani and Giulia Capocchi return to Calabria, guiding viewers through the Serre Regional Park and along the Ionian coast. This episode traces some stages of the Cammino Basiliano, following the footsteps of ancient Byzantine monks who, from the 4th century onward, introduced their spirituality to southern Italy, favoring caves and unspoiled forests for contemplation and asceticism. The journey begins at the archaeological site of Kaulonia and meanders through the stunning forests of Serra San Bruno, the Cascate del Marmarico, and the Bourbon foundries of Mongiana. Along the route, Lino and Giulia will visit “heroic” vineyards where Bivongi DOC wine is produced, and pass through picturesque landscapes and charming villages such as Stilo, known for its famous “Cattolica,” a small Byzantine church with a central plan overlooking the Stilaro River. The episode concludes at the hermitage of Santa Maria della Stella, a place of ancient devotion and scenic beauty. This episode is produced in collaboration with the Region of Calabria.
