Cento Giorni a Palermo. Forty years after its theatrical release, Giuseppe Ferrara’s film is now available on Blu-ray and DVD

In the early 1980s, the Mafia terrorized Sicily. After yet another murder, the State dispatched General Carlo Alberto Dalla Chiesa, who had already triumphed over terrorism, to Palermo as prefect to combat Cosa Nostra. However, without an effective anti-mafia law, the General’s good intentions went unfulfilled, and his just demands to the government were ignored. On September 3, 1982, Dalla Chiesa and his wife Emanuela were assassinated by the Mafia, tragically ending the General’s hundred days in Palermo. To commemorate the fortieth anniversary of its first theatrical release, the film Cento Giorni a Palermo, directed by Giuseppe Ferrara and starring Lino Ventura and Giuliana De Sio, is being released on Blu-ray and DVD.
