On December 17 at 12:20 pm, TV conductors Peppone, Livio Beshir and Margherita Granbassi will arrive in South Tyrol to visit the popular Merano Christmas market which traditional atmosphere pervades the city and surrounding valleys. The journey will continue on horseback riding through the Avelengo forests where the Haflinger breed of horse, also known as the Avelignese, developed in Austria and northern Italy in the late 19th century. Along the ride, the tv crew will show the Rai 1 audience several local specialities such as the milk supply chain, directly from farmers to the transformation to high-quality butter and yogurt; South Tyrolean bread from the selection of grains to the production of flours and sourdough; and alpine sheep’s wool spun to make the traditional Sarner jacket.
