The presence of the “Americans in Rome” has never been told in a “vertical” manner, as in this film. In fact, The Eternal City, since its liberation in June 1944, has been the favourite attraction for American writers, actors and actresses, that have left a significant mark in Italy’s history during the period of Hollywood on the Tiber, the Dolce Vita, but also during the economic Boom and the revolutionary changes that happened in the second half of the twentieth century. This enormous cultural and economic liveliness was due to the immense work done in Italy and Europe by the men of MPA, Motion Pictures Association, who used filming as a key point for connecting with the Old Continent The film – among the un-released archive material coming from the Istituto Luce and Rai Television, but also thanks to a series of interviews of prominent industrial and filming personalities – aims to illustrate a century of American presence in Italy and the Old Continent
