Novecento The Movies, Il Gattopardo/The Leopard is the most popular film on the channel

Novecento – The Movies is an on-demand channel edited by Rai Com that offers all of the Italian cinema that made history, available on Prime Video.

The Leopard takes us back to the Risorgimento period to watch the portrait of a Sicilian aristocracy that in the midst of Garibaldi’s uprisings tries to adapt to political and social changes. 

Directed by Maestro Luchino Visconti, among the cast actors as famous as Burt Lancaster, Alain Delon and Claudia Cardinale. The film, that received the Palme d’Or at Cannes in 1963, is the most watched film on the Novecento – The Movies channel since the programming was launched.

The Italian comedy genre is also an on-demand favorite, with titles like Fantozzi Against The Wind directed by Neri Parenti and Paolo Villaggio (cast: Paolo Villaggio), Almost Starting Over directed by Massimo Troisi (cast: Massimo Troisi), Assassination On The Tiber and Anti-Fraud Squad directed by Bruno Corbucci (cast: Tomas Millian) 

Some of the top ten -of the on-demand channel- most watched movies are: Bread, Love and Dreams directed by Luigi Comencini (cast: Gina Lollobrigida), and A Jeans and a T-Shirt directed by Mariano Laurenti (cast: Nino D’Angelo).
